Happy 2020 to everyone! Sure, it's probably cold outside where you live right now but Spring is on the way and that means the grills & smokers should be fired up! So light the coals and load up on Spanish Jack's this time of year. Your meal is not complete without Cranberry or Blueberry Grilling Sauce for those baby backs. Or how about juicy chicken thighs with grilled corn on the cob seasoned with Red Devil Rub, or even pork tenderloin basted with Apricot Glaze?!
As family lore goes, we've long heard the stories of Grandpa Jack Fuente - or as he was known in 1920s and 30s professional wrestling arenas, the "Spanish Red Devil" . Joaquin de la Fuente (Jack) came to America in 1915 seeking his dream of a spot in the ring with the best of them. He did his time in the ring, creating his own style and perfecting the Surf Boat Hold . He didn't win the title - but he did become a citizen of the United States and as such, won the American Dream as defined by our founding fathers in the Declaration of Independence - the dream that "all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness."
